Peaches invite public input for naming of team mascot
The Spartanburg County Peaches are inviting fans to help name their brand-new mascot this week.
The mascot, set to make its first public appearances next month, is a fun-loving character built to match the Peaches’ personality—something that fits right in at the ballpark and feels at home around summer nights, big hits, and a little bit of mischief. The Peaches, a new collegiate wood-bat team in Inman, announced their name earlier this year and are gearing up for their inaugural season beginning in late May.
The team is asking fans to submit name ideas now through Friday, May 2 at 3 p.m. Submissions can be made online, and once entries close, the Peaches will select a group of finalists for a public vote across the team’s social media channels. If your name is ultimately chosen, you’ll receive four tickets to a Spartanburg County Peaches home game and the chance to throw out a ceremonial first pitch. (Eligibility goes to the first fan to submit each name.)
The mascot will be a regular presence in foul territory throughout the summer at the Peaches’ home games at Jim Everhart Field in Inman, bringing energy and entertainment to fans of all ages.
The Peaches’ home opener is set for late May, with the season running through July. For more information, follow the Spartanburg County Peaches online and stay tuned for updates as the inaugural season approaches.
